1 week later...

I survived my first week as a homeschool mom!  I'm quite impressed with myself!

It was a great week.  We didn't cover everything that I had planned, that's probably something that I need to learn to expect. There's plenty of room for improvement though.

The first change I'm making is I need to buy Laci a lunch box. I know it seems weird to pack their lunch,  but I found out that I'm spending +20 minutes preparing their lunch. Also,  we are spontaneous people who will decide to finish up our afternoon at the park and if I do this,  our lunch is ready to go. I don't like wasting time when it can be used doing something more valuable like making memories with my dynamic duo.

The other change is getting "real" Internet. Right now I have hotspot through my cell phone provider and I have realized its hindering my homeschool planning. Websites wont load,  when they do it will close out unexpectedly. It wasn't my best decision.

Still blessed that I have the opportunity to educate at home. Life is great!

Day 1

Today was our first day homeschooling!
I found out I prefer a small routine when it comes to this stuff so we started at 10 had lunch at 12 and ended at 1:15.
In that time we covered circle time,  music,  reading,  math,  writing,  geography,  and I had him take an assessment test.
Laci wanted in on the action so I made a couple games for her.
Favorite part of my day was Wyatt cheating on the assessment test.  He was supposed to write all the words he knows how to spell. Instead he just copied words from the wall,  calendar,  map,  and Pledge of Allegience. Silly boy!
All in all I would say day one was a success. Still not 100% sure about this homeschooling idea but it's something I'm feeling led to do.

Welcome to...

being the noob that I am,  I wanted to name our homeschool.  By swiping others ideas and mashing them with my own here are a couple I liked:

GLOW Baptist Village (glow stands for God Leads Our Way)

PAWL Christian College Prep (PAWL stands for Pete,  Amy,  Wyatt, Laci)

Hubby is a fan of DEA (DeAnda Education Academy)

So,  while names aren't important it was just something fun!
